Austrian Finals: SUPERFUND Wanderers celebrate Title

The SUPERFUND WANDERERS have won the Austrian Championship for the second time in team history and for the first time since 1990. In front of 500 people at the ballpark Spenadlwiese in Vienna they defeated the SCHWAZ TIGERS 11-1 in ten-run rule shortened seven innings on Saturday to complete the sweep in the championship series.

The WANDERERS scored early and often, leading 7-1 through four innings en route to an easy victory, which was highlighted by an inside-the-park homerun by Matus Kuzma in the sixth. VIENNA had won the first two games of the series by scores of 12-5 and 5-4.

The MOSQUITO ATHLETICS finished in third place in the final standings after defeating the UNION KUFSTEIN VIKINGS 9-3 in game two of the best-of-three consolation series in Attnang-Puchheim.
