The Spanish Baseball and Softball Federation (RFEBS), the Atlanta Braves, the government of the Canary Islands and the local Baseball and Softball Federation will establish a Baseball Academy on the junior category on Tenerife, Spain. Néstor Pérez Alonso of the Marlins Puerto Cruz will be the technical director and receives support from the Spanish National Teams, the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball.
The RFEBS announced a few important dates for the first season:
February 21st to 28th: Inauguration of the Academy with hitting coordinator José Tartabull of the Atlanta Braves.
July 13th to 25th: Delegation of Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball will be present.
December 5th to 13th: Delegation of Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball will be present.
