ASD Rimini has found its consolation prize for losing the Italian Baseball Series to Unipol Bologna. They defeated Nettuno Baseball City 10-3 in the final of the Coppa Italia Final Four on Saturday evening to clinch the Italian Cup Title and a spot in next year’s European Cup.

Rimini took a quick 5-0 lead after three frames en route to the win. Ennio Retrosi and Daniel Mayora had three hits apiece and combined for five RBI. Stefano Desimoni reached base five times and scored four runs in the game. Stefano Giannetti had three hits for Nettuno.

Ricardo Hernandez earned the win with five solid innings on the mound. Eulogio De La Cruz got charged with the loss. Rimini had beaten Tommasin Padua in the semi-finals on Friday, while Nettuno downed T&A San Marino.

A moment of silence was held prior to the Coppa Italia Final Four to honor the victims of the earthquake in Italy this past week.
