After taking the weekend off, the Arizona Fall League resumed play on Monday with three games. Great Britain’s WBC Qualifier hurler Michael Roth picked up his first win of the fall season, by allowing three unearned runs on three hits and a walk in 2 2/3 innings of work in a 7-6 win of his Mesa Solar Sox over the Scottsdale Scorpions.
Germany’s Max Kepler went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a run in a 5-1 victory of his Glendale Desert Dogs against the Peoria Javelinas. He is solely playing first base for Glendale so far and is batting .286. Aaron Altherr played center field for Peoria, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts at the plate.
Dutch infielder Jonathan Schoop played second base for the Surprise Saguaros in a 2-3 loss to the Salt River Rafters. He went 0-for-4 and remains hitless through 12 at-bats.
