In our fourth edition of analysing statistics between the years, we are going to the Netherlands today.
Corendon Kinheim finished first after the regular season and won the championship, defeating Konica Minolta Pioniers in the Holland Series. Kinheim was an offensive powerhouse, scoring 309 runs on a .331 batting average. DOOR Neptunus dominated the pitching categories. They had an ERA of 1.74 during the preliminary round, but were upset in the playoffs by the Pioniers.

Fausto ALVAREZ (Amsterdam Pirates) got the MVP-Award after a strong season. He led the league with a dominating slugging average of .722. Runner-up Roel KOOLEN (Corendon Kinheim) finished with an average of .534. ALVAREZ hit also the most homeruns with twelve. Batters of the Dutch champion dominated the other major categories. The batting title went to Danny ROMBLEY. He and Dirk VAN’T KLOOSTER scored 44 runs each. And Tjerk SMETS (all three Corendon Kinheim) finished first in the RBI standings (43).

Leon BOYD (DOOR Neptunus) was the beast starter in this category. He had a perfect record of nine wins and no losses with an ERA of 1.22. David BERGMAN (Corendon Kinheim) recorded the most victories (12). Jos DE JONG (Amsterdam Pirates) was the strikeout leader with 84. Utility man Ryan MURPHY (MediaMonks RCH), who also hit .365, was the only hurler with more than 100 innings pitched. He finished with 112 2/3 and six complete games. Michiel VAN KAMPEN (Corendon Kinheim) and Dave DRAIJER (Konica Minolta Pioniers) each had eight saves.
