Citta’ Oggi reports that the Italian Softball League club has signed Amanda Nikolenko for the upcoming season. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio between 2004 and 2008, where she had a career record of 65-50 with an ERA of 2.88 in 148 appearances (107 starts). She struck out 574 (191 walks) in 723 innings. The right-handed pitcher finished at the top of the all-time school rankings in innings pitched, starts, wins, strikeouts and complete games (73).
After graduating in 2008 Nikolenko went to France and played for Toulon in the European Cupwinners Cup in Bollate, Italy. She batted .350 (OBP .435/SLG .400) and had a 1-7 record with an ERA of 2.06 in eight starts (47.2 IP, 40 SO, 8 BB). She is currently working as an assistant coach at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
