THIRD ROUND OF SWISS CUP COMPLETED LAST WEEKEND IN SWITZERLAND, ALL THREE BARRACUDAS TEAMS STILL ALIVE!

BARRACUDAS DEFEAT CHALLENGERS EASILY IN LAST DERBY AT HEERENSCHURLI
Behind a strong outing from Nderim Coma, and two homeruns from Andreas Ruesch, the Barracudas knocked the defending Swiss Cup champs from the tournament 13-3. Coma pitched six innings for the win, allowing only seven hits, two runs,(1 earned), and striking out five! Andreas Ruesch hit his first career homerun in the third inning, but wasn’t satisfied with just one, he capped off a career day hitting his second homer, finishing with six RBI’s! Thomas Burger took the loss for the Challengers.
INDIANS SURVIVE FROGS 5-2
In the other matchup of NLA teams this weekend, the Lausanne Indians once again struggled to put runs on the board against the Sissach Frogs. The first four games of the season the Indians offense looked unstoppable, but has now struggled the past two weekends. The Frogs lose again as the season looks to be getting away from them. If they are to survive relegation, they must find a way to put up some wins.
BARRACUDAS NLB AND NL1 ADVANCE WITH STRONG WINS!
BARRACUDAS NLB VS. SISSACH FROGS NL1, 16-5
No surprises in Sissach as Barracudas starting pitcher Marcel Spring pitched into the seventh giving up five runs. Stefan Spring pitched a perfect 2 1/3 innings in relief.
BARRACUDAS NL1 VS HUNENBERG NLB, 11-3
Big surprise in Cham as the third Barracudas team eliminates another NLB club to advance to the quarter final! Starting pitcher Ralph Vonderschmitt had a no-hitter broken up in the fifth. but settled for two runs in seven innings. Beni Montag pitched two innings in relief.
FLYERS NLA POUND OUT 5 HOMERS IN WIN OVER ROMANSHORN NL1
Reto Siegel led off the game with the first of two homers as the Flyers ran out to an easy 18-0 victory over the Romanshorn Submarines. The game was tight until the fourth inning, as base running errors kept the Flyers from busting the game open. It was only a matter of time for the potent offense from Therwil to get started, which it did in the fourth, leading to a mercy rule in the seventh. Daniel Eichenberger helped the cause cracking two homers of his own, player/coach John Alexander collected the win on the hill along with hitting a homerun. Not to take anything away from the Flyers, they hit the ball hard all day, but they did use aluminum against the 1st Liga team, which left the Submarines at even a bigger disadvantage.
CARDINALS NLA SURVIVE WEAK PERFORMANCE TO WIN 8-0 AGIANST FLYERS NLB
Solid pitching from 17 year old Lukas Croton, and Hide Oshima, along with a lack of motivation, kept the Cards from playing their best game as the 3-time defending Swiss Champs struggled against a young and hungry Therwil NLB team. Only three of the Cardinals eight runs were earned as they struggled to find a groove all day at the plate. Along with poor base running, and again nice pitching from the young Flyers, the Cards escaped from Therwil advancing to the third round of Cup play. Chris Beyeler and Tobias Imboden combined on the shutout, recording 13 K’s. The Cards have made at least a semi-final of this tournament four years straight.
