The METS scored runs in the seventh and eighth frames to overcome a 1-2-deficit in a 3-2 victory against the ORKAS on Tuesday. They had taken the lead in the second inning on David Nino’s two-run homerun, his first of the season. However the offense couldn’t add insurance runs later on against reliever Manuel Olivares (W 1-2), who struck out seven in four innings. The defense didn’t help the cause either, as they committed five errors in the game, leading to one unearned run.
Jose Suarez started for the ORKAS, allowing two hits, one run and four walks in five innings. He struck out two. Yorby Marcano (L 0-1) took the loss. Bryon Bell walked, singled and scored a run in two plate appearances. Zair Koeiman (1-3), Sytse Visbsen, Steffan Hoogewerff (0-2, SO) and Ricky Thomas (0-1, SO) also were in the game.
