ADO completes roster with Alex Smith and Brent Henry
The Dutch Major League Club ADO Den Haag signed the pitchers Alex SMITH and Brent HENRY for the 2008 season and completes their roster.
SMITH is a player for the British National Team and has already played for ADO in 2005. He posted a 7-6 record in 15 games with an ERA of 2.45, while striking out 75 (53 walks) in 117.2 innings pitched. Last September the 26-year-old won the silver medal with the National Team at the European Championships in Barcelona. He appeared in three games with an ERA of 2.51 and eight strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched.
HENRY is a lefthander from Tennessee. The 27-year-old could be used as a reliever or a starter. He is coming with a recommendation by Major League scout Frank EVANS. HENRY has played for the Georgia Clowns in a semi-pro league last season.
ADO is hoping for a better year than 2007. They missed the playoffs finishing in sixth place with a 15-24 record. They are open the new season on April 12th in Amsterdam against the Pirates.
