The Dutch Hoofdklasse club ADO from The Hague has brought in two players with experience in professional leagues. According to Honkbalsite.com they have added the right-handed pitcher Bobby Carrington and first baseman Matt Ryan.
The 25-year-old Carrington was born in Westfield, Massachusetts and attended Northeastern University. In 2008 he spent one year on the independent league circuit, playing for Kalamazoo and Kansas City in the Frontier and Northern Leagues. In 24 innings combined he had a 7.50 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 23 walks in 24 innings. Afterwards he worked as player-coach in Australia and in South Africa.
The 23-year-old Ryan was born in Geelong, Australia. After going to St. Joseph’s College in his home country he was signed by the Anaheim Angels organization as an amateur free agent. He played two seasons (2005/2006) in the Arizona Summer League, batting .256 (OBP .338/SLG .379) in 78 games. He returned to Australia, where he has played since.
