Adelaide Bite, Perth Heat split first 2 Games in ABL Finals

The Delta Airlines ABL Championship Series is going to see a decisive third game on Sunday. The Perth Heat and the Adelaide Bite split the first two games of the best-of-three series. On Friday the Bite won a nail biter 4-3 thanks to three runs in the top of the fifth on a two-run double by Stefan Welch and a RBI single by James McOwen. Perth tried to come back one frame later, but only managed to cut the deficit to a run. They later also had a runner thrown out at the plate.

On Saturday the Heat came back and tied the series with an easy 9-2 win, which was sealed with an eight-run rally in the fifth. Ronnie Welty started and capped the big inning with a leadoff homerun and a grand slam. Allan De San Miguel drove in two. Ryne Price went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Trevor Caughey went 7 2/3 solid innings for the win.
