Just one day after being no-hit by David Welch, the Adelaide Bite offense handed out 13 hits in a 4-0 shutout over the Sydney Blue Sox. With the victory they evened the best-of-three series and forced a decisive third match on Sunday. The winner will go to the championship series of the Australian Baseball League next week, facing the Perth Heat.
Adelaide took the lead with a RBI single by Brandon Bantz in the bottom of the fourth. One frame later a two-run single by Quincy Latimore made it 3-0. Latimore drove in a third run with another single in the bottom of the seventh, finalizing the score. On the mound Brandon Maurer gave up four hits and four walks in seven scoreless innings, striking out five to take the win. Wayne Lundgren took the loss, issuing three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
