2011 in Review – Belgian First Division – Namur Angels



Even though 2012 already started we still look back at the 2011 season in European Baseball. Up next is the Belgian First Division.

Namur Angels

2011 Record: 24-14
2011 Ranking: 3rd place following regular season. The Namur Angels reached the playoffs in third place thanks to a 17-10 record, just two games out of first. During the semi-final round robin they bettered their position and made the Belgian Series in runner-up position behind the Hoboken Pioneers. In the finals they lost the championship series in three straight games against the Pioneers.
Runs Scored: 274 (1st)
Runs Allowed: 183 (1st)

Best Batter: Nicholas Frederick. He batted .439/.554/.719 with two homeruns, two triples, six doubles, 25 runs and 15 RBI in 16 games.
Best OPS: Michael Benton 1.533

Most RBI: Williams Rosario 34
Most Runs Scored: Michael Perkins 37
Most Stolen Bases: Michael Perkins 24

Best Pitcher: Justin Latta. He went 11-6 with an ERA of 2.65 in 19 games (17 starts). He struck out 158 batters in 135 2/3 innings, walking 66.

Best ERA Reliever: Nicolas Migeot 2.52
Most Strikeouts: Justin Latta 158
