2010 in Review – Italian Baseball League – Telemarket Rimini

The season in European Baseball is over. It is time to look back. We will start our annual review series with the Italian Baseball League.

Telemarket Rimini

2010 Record: 27-15
2010 Ranking: 3rd in Italian Baseball League after regular season. During the semi-final round robin Telemarket Rimini lost seven of the nine games to miss the Italian Baseball Series in fourth place. Five of the seven losses were with one run difference.
Runs Scored: 195 (4th)
Runs Allowed: 120 (1st)

Jim Brower pitched a no-hitter in his first start for RiminiBest Batter: Laidel Chapelli. The Cuban-born outfielder with Italian passport batted .322 (OBP .436/SLG .409) with three triples, seven doubles, 28 runs scored and 22 RBI in 41 games during the regular season.
Best OPS: Laidel Chapelli .845
Most Home Runs: Mario Chiarini 5
Most RBI: Lorenzo Avagnina 28
Most Runs Scored: Laidel Chapelli 28
Most Stolen Bases: Laidel Chapelli 12 (5th in IBL)

Best Pitcher: Sandy Patrone. He had a 6-3 record with an ERA of 1.99 in 14 starts this season. He struck out 76 batters in 77 innings, while walking 20. Rimini had ranked four pitchers (Patrone, Di Roma, Marquez-Ramirez and Brower) in the top nine with stellar ERAs.
Best ERA Starter: Sandy Patrone 1.99 (5th in IBL)
Best ERA Reliever: Chris Di Roma 1.64 (2nd in IBL)
Most Strikeouts: Sandy Patrone 76 (3rd in IBL)
