The 25th Annual Easter Weekend International Youth Baseball Tournament will be held in Pineuilh, France, April 3 – 5, 2010. This tournament has hosted baseball clubs from all over the world. This year the United States, Spain, Canada, India, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Venezuela are expected to send teams and registration is still open. Major League scouts are frequent visitors to this tourney.
Pineuilh is a small town on the Dordogne River 70 kilometers east of Bordeaux. It is between the wine growing areas of Saint Emilion, Pomerol and Côtes du Castillon and the Perigord region of France, noted for its fine food. This small town has been the home of one of the most competitive and successful baseball clubs in France. This 25th Anniversary Tournament is expected to be a special event.
The tournament organizers this year hope to draw ten teams in the “Minimes” division (players born in 1997, 1998 or 1999) and ten teams in “Cadets” (players born in 1994, 1995 or 1996). Each team will bring an umpire who will be welcomed and managed by the technical committee. Bus drivers are lodged free of charge. Registration is open until December 20, 2009.
