Farnsworth, Connell and Carvajal to play in Venezuelan Winter League
The MVP of the European Champions Cup Jeff Farnsworth of DANESI NETTUNO returns to the Venezuelan Winter League for a sixth straight year, joining Anzoátegui for the 2009/2010 campaign, which starts on October 9th. Farnsworth won the title in Venezuela last winter, pitching for the Tigres de Aragua during the postseason. In the Italian Baseball League he had a record of 5-4 and an ERA of 3.21 in 14 starts, striking out 106 in 87 innings.
Farnsworth will be accompanied by infielders Lino Connell and Jhonny Carvajal, which also will made the trip from Italy to Venezuela. Connell played for DE ANGELIS GODO in the IBL and later for Venezuela in the 2009 Baseball World Cup. Carvajal returned to Italy in 2009, putting on the jersey of CARIPARMA PARMA after a successful year 2008 in Bilbao, Spain.
