The German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) released the schedule for the 2009 season in the Baseball-Bundesliga. The league starts on April 4th with 14 teams into a new year. The lone new club is the PULHEIM GOPHERS, which will be slotted into the northern conference. The NEUNKIRCHEN NIGHTMARES, the HANOVER REGENTS (both north) and the NEUENBURG ATOMICS (south) got relegated.
The regular season lasts from April 4th till June 21st with nine-inning doubleheaders each game day. The quarterfinals will begin on July 4th, the semi-finals on August 1st and the finals on August 22nd. The top four teams in each conference advance into the playoffs. Postseason series are going to be played in a best-of-five format.

Cologne Cardinals – Bonn Capitals
Paderborn Untouchables have a bye in week one.
South:
Saarlouis Hornets – Mannheim Tornados
Gauting Indians – Mainz Athletics
Haar Disciples – Heidenheim Heidekoepfe
Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have a bye in week one due to European Cup participation.
