Greek Baseball Championship under way
by Constantine Davlos
The Greek League is underway. In the previous days two games took place.
For the Patra’s Group, at New Years Eve, Sirius defeated Pelopas 9-8 in a very interesting game, as it is evident from the score.
In Athens during the last weekend Spartakos won against Milon 10-0. The game, although highly anticipated, proved to be a monologue of Spartakos. The team’s pitcher Chris Robinson threw a no-hitter striking out 14 of the 16 batters he faced. The game was called after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
A few hours earlier, for the Athenian Group also, Evrialy won bureaucratically a game against Leontes. The opposing team never showed up for the game, which was awarded to Evrialy.
The championship continues this weekend with games of the Athenian Group.
