The Minnesota Twins have signed 16-year-old Dutch right-hander Matz Schütte. He is from Almere and currently playing for the Rookie League team of Mr. Cocker HCAW in Bussum, Netherlands. In the Hoofdklasse he pitched during the play-downs for HCAW. In October Schütte is going to start his professional career at the MLB Australian Academy according to a report by Honkbalsite.com. He was one of 11 Dutch players at the European Elite Camp in Tirrenia this summer and also took part in the mini camp in Hoofddorp and the academies tournament earlier this year. The Baltimore Orioles were also interested in the hurler.
